This design was part of the 2016 lab safety recognition program while I worked with the Office of Environment, Health & Safety at UC Berkeley.
I was inspired by the 2016 summer Olympics for the slogan and 2016 “We All Dream in Gold” Oscars’ posters. Images were kept in greyscale with a pop of gold to keep the branding cohesive across each medium we used. I opted to use images related to each category with a round shape that could be highlighted in gold to work off the Olympics gold medal idea, except for the Erlenmeyer flask since it is a part of the safety bear logo.
We promoted the award program to researchers on campus as part of our efforts to shift the lab safety culture and provide a sense of honor and prestige with winning the award.
